SURAH AL HUMAZAH
(The Slanderer)
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ
(1) Wai lul-li kulli hu mazatil-lumaza
Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter
ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ
(2) Al-lazi jama'a maalaw wa'addadah
Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by
يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ
(3) Yahsabu anna maalahu akhladah
Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever
كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ
(4) Kalla layum ba zanna fil hutamah
By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ
(5) Wa maa adraaka mal-hutamah
And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces
نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ
(6) Narul laahil-mooqada
(It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze)
ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ
(7) Al latee tat tali'u 'alalafidah
The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts
إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ
(8) Innaha 'alaihim moosada
It shall be made into a vault over them
فِى عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ
(9) Fee 'amadim-mu mad dadah
